Around the world, local climbing leaders are building safer crags, expanding access, building inclusive communities, and creating new opportunities for tourism and economic growth through climbing. In 2025, The Global Climbing Initiative partnered with 19 emerging climbing organizations across Africa, Asia, the Middle East, and the Americas, providing grants, equipment, and leadership training to strengthen locally led initiatives.
Together, these partnerships invested $81,366 into community-driven projects and distributed 1,322 lbs (600 kg) of climbing equipment to support safer infrastructure, education, and program development. GCI-supported initiatives reached 1,388 women, 682 youth, and 27 people with disabilities, helping expand who has access to climbing and the opportunities it can create.
Our 2025 Annual Report shares the progress made together and the communities leading the future of climbing in their own regions.
