We equip climbing communities worldwide with the knowledge and resources to thrive
Climbing drives positive change around the globe. It supports physical and mental wellbeing, inspires environmental advocacy, builds community, and generates sustainable tourism. Yet access to equipment, safety training, and financial resources is not equal, and these gaps shape who is able to climb, lead, and grow their communities.
The Global Climbing Initiative supports climbing organizations created by local and Indigenous communities, creating lasting improvements in economic opportunity, environmental stewardship, social change, and community wellbeing.
We support this work through:
Gear access that enables safe participation and community programs
Grant funding that powers locally defined visions and expands access
Leadership and safety trainings that strengthen long-term capacity and reduce risk
Best practices for the safe, sustainable, and equitable growth of climbing
We focus our resources on under-resourced and historically underrepresented climbing communities, walking alongside their leaders as they shape the future of climbing in their own context.
