Thank you for your interest in supporting The Global Climbing Initiative’s work. We are grateful for the outreach we receive from talented individuals around the world looking to contribute to our goals of supporting and uniting the global climbing community. As a small and young nonprofit, we do not always have the bandwidth to add members to our volunteer team. However, you may review our requested areas of support below and follow the instructions at the bottom of the page to reach out if you think you could be a fit.
AREAS OF NEED FOR VOLUNTEERS
Gear Distribution Project (Colorado, USA)
Our Gear Distribution Project is seeking a manager for a 2-5 hour per week commitment managing gear inventory, communicating with communities submitting request forms, setting inventory goals for the Engagement Team to request from sponsors, preparing packages to ship, and handing them off to gear transport volunteers or sending them at the post office. This is our only volunteer role that cannot be virtual due to the location of our gear inventory (Superior, Colorado).
Fundraising or grantwriting
If you have experience developing fundraising strategies or applying for grants, we’d love to receive your assistance.
Donor relations
We could use help developing communications strategies to keep our donor and supporter networks engaged. If you are very organized and would like to help an organization keep its ducks in a row, or if you have experience managing donors for another organization, this may be a great opportunity for you.
Social media management
We are seeking a social media manager with strong writing skills and Canva proficiency who is knowledgeable about the ecosystem of organizations and individuals in the global climbing industry and current inequities in the development of climbing worldwide.
To share your interest in supporting GCI as a volunteer, send a resume and cover letter to info@globalclimbing.org. Please ensure your cover letter clearly describes why you are passionate about supporting GCI’s mission and which of our areas of need you would like to volunteer in (clearly painting a picture of what your contribution might look like and the strengths and skills that would make you an asset to GCI). Examples of previous work you’ve produced are optional, but helpful. Please note that any outreach not meeting these requirements will not be considered.
