“Biologists typically do not have the expertise or training to understand how, why, and where bats are using cliff systems. Naturally, biologists and land managers have turned to climbers as the experts on cliff systems, resulting in new collaborative efforts to understand and save bats.”

Climbers for Bat Conservation, in collaboration with climbing organizations like Access Fund, is spearheading new efforts to harness climbers’ love of vertical exploration in order to save bat species. This resource is an essential read for all climbers to better understand these elusive members of the animal kingdom, and the role we can play in ensuring their survival.
