In the midst of the pandemic, Access Fund and The Climbing Initiative teamed up to create a first-of-its-kind virtual gathering of climbing advocates around the world. The event offered more than a dozen sessions focused on climbing conservation and advocacy topics: public lands, diversity and inclusion, sustainability, trails and infrastructure, rebolting, mobilizing and engaging your climbing community, fundraising, climbing’s economic impact, and much more.
This event took place November 14-15, 2020.

Access Fund
Access Fund is the national advocacy organization that keeps U.S. climbing areas open and conserves the climbing environment. Founded in 1991, Access Fund supports and represents millions of climbers nationwide in all forms of climbing: rock climbing, ice climbing, mountaineering, and bouldering. Six core programs support the mission on national and local levels: climbing policy and advocacy, stewardship and conservation, local support and mobilization, land acquisition and protection, risk management and landowner support, and education.
The Climbing Initiative
The Climbing Initiative is a nonprofit dedicated to supporting climbing communities worldwide. Through research, community engagement, and partnerships, we bring together organizations invested in the future of climbing and provide best practices for supporting the growth of climbing areas and communities. We believe rock climbing can empower individuals, create new sources of livelihood, and foster the development of a more sustainable and equitable world.
