The Global Climbing Initiative is a nonprofit based in the United States. Like many international grantmakers, we operate in accordance with applicable U.S. laws, regulations, and banking requirements.
As part of our commitment to responsible and sustainable grantmaking, we periodically assess where and how we are able to provide financial or in-kind support. These assessments take into account regulatory constraints, risk considerations, and organizational capacity.
As a result, GCI may be unable to support projects in certain countries or regions at a given time, even when those projects strongly align with our mission. These decisions reflect compliance and operational limitations, not a lack of belief in the importance of local climbing communities.
Eligibility may change over time as conditions evolve, and we will continue to review and update our approach to ensure GCI can responsibly support climbing communities around the world for the long term.
