Rob Kyte

Storyteller

Rob is a climber, skier, writer, photographer, and outdoor guide. He first found his passion for climbing while studying in Ecuador in the summer of 2018. After summiting Volcán Cotopaxi, Rob began rock climbing shortly thereafter before graduating from Georgetown University in 2020 with a degree in Foreign Service. Following his training as a climbing and backpacking guide in Nepal in the spring of 2021, Rob joined The Global Climbing Initiative to merge his passion as a writer and climber with his education in international affairs, culture, and politics. As a storyteller, Rob seeks to highlight narratives where climbing has played a role in uplifting individuals and communities by illuminating their potential for positive change both within themselves and in the global climbing space. Rob is currently based in Lake Tahoe, California, where he works for Alpenglow Expeditions.
